Baptist is the underwriting sponsor of a monthly health newsmagazine show called Smart Medicine, which is broadcast on WKNO-TV Channel 10. Hosted by news anchor Joe Birch, the news program features various Mid-South medical and health experts discussing the latest health news and services available in the area.

Recipes
PITA CRISPS
Excellent as snacks, these herb-flecked bread wedges also complement soups and salads.
Serves 18; 2 wedges per serving
One Serving: Calories 33; Sodium 64 milligrams; Fat 0.5 grams; Carbohydrate 6 grams; Cholesterol 0 milligrams; Fiber 1 gram; Protein 1 gram.
Ingredients:
3 6-inch whole wheat pita breads
1/4 cup very finely snipped fresh parsley
Green onions (green & white parts), finely chopped
1 teaspoon olive oil
3/4 teaspoon dried basil, crumbled
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
medium garlic clove, minced
Olive Oil Spray
1 tablespoon grated or shredded Parmesan Cheese
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Separate each pita bread into 2 layers.
3. In a small bowl, stir together the parsley, breen onions, olive oil, basil, rosemary, and garlic. Spread the mixture on the pitas.
4. Lightly spray the tops with olive oil spray. Sprinkle with the Parmesan. Cut each pita half into 6 wedges. Put the wedges on an ungreased baking sheet.
5. Bake for 12 minutes, or until crisp.
6. Serve warm!
Note: Any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week.
